Indian Transit Visa Rules
To exit the airport grounds during layover, travelers must hold a valid Indian visa. For transit stays under 72 hours, you can apply for an Indian e-Transit Visa online at least 4 days prior to departure. Alternatively, standard e-Tourist visas are accepted for exits.

If you stay inside the Terminal 2 international transit area (such as Niranta Transit Hotel airside), you do not clear immigration and no visa is required. If you choose an off-terminal hotel in Andheri/Sahar, visit restaurants, or take a city tour, you must clear immigration with a valid Indian Transit Visa or e-Visa matching your passport.
